Weber State University's Department of Communication Alumni Page

The client that I worked closely with in Spring 2021 is the Department of Communication at Weber State University. We were approached by the client to find ways to build an alumni community within the department to gain funding for more scholarship opportunities.

​ One of our team’s work objectives was to contact alumni through various methods to update their information within the communication database. Our other objective was to create a new Communication Alumni webpage to make it easier to connect with alumni and make it easier for them to donate. ​ The team researched different ways to contact alumni and came up with six solutions: email, LinkedIn, phone calls, postcards, social media, and text. The solutions that were most effective in contacting alumni in a short amount of time were emails, social media posts, and text messages. ​ Another strategy that the team implemented was the creation of a Communication Alumni webpage that showcased reasons to donate and future networking events. This webpage was linked with the text messages we sent out and received 30 updated contact information from alumni by May 2021.
