Weber State University's (WSU) college radio station, KWCR Wildcat Radio, hosted its first free music festival on April 4th, 2023. Below, I have included the promotional tactics I have done leading up to the event including a news release, website design, social posts, and engaging with community members. I was also one of the main staff members helping to run the event the day of.

After finalizing event planning with the KWCR staff members, I wrote out a news release and sent it over to one of WSU's marketing teams to help us reach local news outlets. I also sent it to The Signpost, Weber State University's student newspaper.

Along with this news release, I included a link to a landing page for KWCR Fest with the same information. The only difference is that it is linked directly to the KWCR website and shows the event flier.

For social posts, my colleague and I created Instagram reels with the bands to promote the music festival line-up. I also took part in on-air band interviews leading up to the event as an interviewer and as the sound tech for all five bands. These interviews were all recorded and uploaded as a podcast on Spotify.
I also engaged with community members through tabling events and reaching out to local stores about attending as vendors. At these tables, I talked with students and campus visitors about the event, the bands, the location, and about a giveaway for attendees of the event.
